History
Contact between the two towns started in 1998 and visits took place informally before the Twinning Charter was officially signed.
The first signing took place when Georges Siffredi (then mayor of Châtenay-Malabry) visited Wellington in April 2001 to sign jointly with Gary Davies (then mayor of Wellington).
Visits have since been organised on an annual basis to each town on alternate years. Other exchanges have taken place between schools, other organisations and individuals.
